This museum sprawls over 125,000 square feet to commemorate the amazing strides in African American culture, not just in Detroit but also across the country. The collection hold over 35,000 artifacts. Some of these artifacts include letters from notable African Americans including Rosa Parks.

The annual African World Festival is held at the museum. It is one of the world’s largest festivals dedicated to celebrating African culture.
