Located down a historic street in Bisbee stands the Copper Queen Hotel. It is the oldest continuously operating hotel in the entire state of Arizona. This amazing feature has allowed the hotel to have its share of stories over the years including the legend of a ghost who haunts the halls of the building.

Built in 1898, the Copper Queen Hotel was officially opened in 1902. It was constructed for the local mining company who operated several nearby facilities. They hoped that the hotel would serve as a place for businessmen to stay who visited the mine. The Phelps Dodge Corporation owned the local copper mine which inspired the name of the hotel.

The hotel is still in operation and offers beautiful amenities for guests seeking to stay there.

Haunted Occurances

Several paranormal investigators have spent time at the Copper Queen Hotel. Rumor has it that Julia Lowell is the ghost at the hotel. She was a working girl who used the hotel to service her clients. After falling for one of the men and he rejected her advances she killed herself at the hotel. They say that she can be seen randomly throughout the place.
