Flowing over shelves of ancient sandstone, Agate Falls is a gorgeous waterfall located in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This waterfall drops over 39 feet into the river below. It’s water flows to Lake Superior, one of the five Great Lakes.

There are several hiking, ATV and snowmobile trails that lead nearby the waterfall. An old train bridge that once carried passengers and cargo across the Michigan wilderness has been restored and opened for off-road and pedestrian traffic. The falls can be viewed from this bridge.

Agate Falls are free to visit. They can be accessed from a parking lot located on M-28.
