Slide down a natural 60 foot water slide as you land in a pool of water below. Discover the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains as you venture into the Pisgah National Forest to experience this fun attraction.

The rock slide ends in an 8-foot deep pool with a strong current, so swimmers must be able to tread water competently. The brisk 55 degree water is quite a shock, but provides refreshing relief from summer heat. This natural wonder has long attracted adventure seekers to slide down its slick surface into the chilled mountain waters. The U.S. Forest Service has since developed it into an official recreation area complete with parking, stairs, railings, and lifeguards on duty during peak season.

When visiting, be aware the parking lot fills quickly. Staff may temporarily close it when full until spaces open up again. There’s an upper viewing deck and left-side slide access point. Follow the safety rules, like no tubes or bellyflopping.

There’s a $5 entrance fee in summer, dropping to $2.50 off-season when unguarded. Closure is possible in hazardous conditions.
